ELONGATED COINS
Elongated coins are coins that have been elongated (flattened or stretched) and embossed with a new design with the purpose of creating a commemorative or souvenir token. Elongated coins are created by means of a "penny press" - for a fee, one places a penny in the press and by handcranking, the penny is flattened and imprinted. The collecting of elongated coins is a branch of numismatics. Elongated coins can also be categorized as exonumia. The practice of elongating coins is legal in the U.S., although the act of mutilating coins for fraudulent reasons is illegal.

Masonic-Stamped Penny
Masonic Stamped Penny
This is a 1969 Lincoln Memorial Penny that has been restamped with Masonic logo. The balls and cane are stamped on the raised portion, with the square and compass pressed into the indented side.
The age of the stamping is not known, although we can assume that it was sometime after 1969. This was found in a well-hunted city park. It was found at a depth of 0 inches. I believe it hadn't been there too long. This is a vitage Blue Lodge coin.
